The weather has been gentle on the snow pack and we are going to make it all the way to Easter Weekend! Surely it has been twenty years or more since the conditions were this good this late in the Spring.
There is still TONS of snow on the hills. Even the Red T-Bar is in good condition still.
So plan to spend Good Friday (March 30th), Saturday (March 31st) and Easter Sunday (April 1st)(No Joke) with the whole family at Duck Mountain!
The snow has been piling up at Duck Mountain! Things are looking good for our Opening Day on December 23rd. Grooming is under way, the lifts are ready, and work on the tube run is moving right along. Conditions are going to be light and fluffy.
Hope everyone is making plans to visit us during the Christmas Break.
If you still have to find a last minute gift for someone that Gift Certificates and Season Passes are available at Sas-Kam Sportsman in Kamsack.
Welcome everyone to the 2017-18 ski season! We got snow at Duck Mountain at the beginning of November this year and amazingly it stayed! I was out grooming soon after and we have a good 3 inch base. (about 8 cm) This is a very promising start.
However, we still need more snow before we can open. I have been answering many questions about opening. Each year we try to open as soon as we have the snow conditions to permit it. With only 6 inches(15cm) of snowfall that has been packed into a base so far there is still not enough snow to cover our slopes properly.
We have fantastic All Natural Snow at Duck Mountain!
So now we play the waiting game. Eyes to the skies and hoping for a White Christmas.
We hope to open on December 23rd but we need more snowfall before then. Keep watching here and on Facebook for updates.
